Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 1 January 2026

Please read these terms carefully before confirming your booking. By placing a deposit you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions in full.

Bookings & Confirmation

A safari booking is confirmed upon receipt of a signed booking form and a deposit of 30% of the total tour cost. The balance is due no later than 60 days prior to departure. For bookings made within 60 days of departure, full payment is required at the time of booking. Mboka Tours Ltd. reserves the right to treat a booking as cancelled if payment is not received by the due date.

Pricing

All prices are quoted in United States Dollars (USD) unless otherwise stated. Prices are based on costs at the time of quotation and are subject to change due to fluctuations in park fees, fuel levies, government taxes, or currency exchange rates. We will notify you of any price changes before your booking is confirmed. Once a deposit is received, the price is guaranteed subject to any government-imposed tax increases.

Cancellations by You

If you cancel your booking, the following charges apply based on days before departure: 90+ days — deposit forfeited; 60–89 days — 50% of total cost; 30–59 days — 75% of total cost; fewer than 30 days — 100% of total cost. Cancellations must be made in writing to mbokatours@gmail.com. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance that includes cancellation cover.

Cancellations by Mboka Tours

Mboka Tours reserves the right to cancel or modify a safari in circumstances beyond our control (force majeure), including but not limited to natural disaster, civil unrest, pandemic, or government travel advisories. In such cases, we will offer a full credit toward a future safari or a refund minus non-recoverable costs already incurred on your behalf.

Itinerary Changes

Safari itineraries are subject to change due to weather conditions, park regulations, wildlife movements, or road accessibility. Mboka Tours guides reserve the right to modify routes and activities in the field to ensure your safety and the quality of your experience. No refunds are issued for itinerary adjustments made for these reasons.

Health & Fitness

Clients are responsible for ensuring they are physically fit to undertake the activities in their chosen itinerary. This is particularly important for Kilimanjaro climbs and walking safaris. You must disclose any medical conditions relevant to your trip at the time of booking. Mboka Tours reserves the right to exclude a client from an activity if we believe participation poses a safety risk.

Travel Insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for all Mboka Tours clients. Your policy must include medical evacuation cover of at least USD 100,000, trip cancellation, and baggage loss. You will be required to provide proof of insurance before departure. Mboka Tours accepts no liability for costs arising from inadequate insurance coverage.

Liability

Mboka Tours acts as a tour operator and coordinator. While we take every reasonable precaution, we cannot be held liable for injury, illness, loss, or damage arising from: acts of nature, wildlife encounters, third-party accommodation or transport providers, or activities undertaken at the client's own risk. Our liability is limited to the cost of the tour in all circumstances.

Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Arusha, Tanzania.
